The Congress-National Conference (NC) alliance has crossed the halfway mark in Jammu & Kashmir’s first assembly elections in a decade, securing early leads in 48 seats. The BJP follows with 28 seats as vote counting begins under heavy security.

Voter turnout reached 63.88% across the three-phase elections held on September 18, 25, and October 1. This marks the first assembly elections since the revocation of Article 370 in August 2019, which restructured the former state into Union Territories.

The Congress and NC joined forces after the collapse of the PDP-BJP coalition in 2018. Predictions suggest the alliance may secure the majority, though exit polls can vary in accuracy.

Stay tuned with Jk khabri for final results as they are announced today.
